How to disable the Aveox
Overtemp Cutout.
First of all, this procedure will void the
warrantee of your Aveox controller. It's also a little tricky. I was sweating when I did
mine and was real glad when I was done! Here's the deal:
First, find the chip closest to the hall
sensor plug and look at the row of pins closest to the hall sensor plug. Then count from
the left 3 pins over. Next, pry the third pin off of the board and bend it over to the
fourth pin and solder it to it. That's it.
Once again, doing this procedure is at your
own risk and will void the warranty. Remember, the overtemp cut out is for the controllers
protection. If you're having cutout problems at 4 laps like I was I wouldn't suggest
running the boat more then what it takes to finish the race. Do your 5 laps and bring it
in. Also, This is not a substitute for water cooling. All efforts should be used to run
the controller without this modification. If you are uneasy or unsure about this procedure
DON'T DO IT. Aveox has said they would reprogram the chip to set the overtemp cutout from
90 to 120 C. This will also void the warrantee, but may be a better solution.
